Cellular
- Taiwan: Nokia Corp. said its existing contract with Taiwan Mobile has been expanded to cover HSDPA equipment and Nokia’s Flexi W-CDMA base station.
Miscellaneous
- Switzerland: TDC Switzerland AG has chosen Nortel Networks to supply a carrier IP switch to enhance the company’s network. The enhanced network will provide Web-based webphone and multimedia services with wireless and wireline Internet access for both residential and business customers.
- United States: GigaBeam Corp. said it received a purchase order for three WiFiber wireless fiber links from WirelessGuys Inc., a system integration partner, to support a program they are working on with the Department of Defense.
- Worldwide: In-building wireless systems provider LGC Wireless said it has installed its InterReach Unison system on three Carnival Cruise Line ships as part of the cruise line’s fleetwide implementation of cellular service.
