Jamster to sell Disney content in North America

NEW YORK-Jamster International bulked up its content portfolio in North America with a deal to offer ringtones, graphics and mobile games from the Walt Disney Internet Group.

Disney and its third-party content licensing arm Starwave Mobile already use VeriSign Inc.’s mobile content business to distribute content in other geographic markets. The new pact allows Jamster to sell Disney’s wares in the United States and Canada beginning this fall.

VeriSign Inc. recently sold a 51-percent share of its Jamster/Jamba business to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. for $188 million. Fox Mobile Entertainment will operate the direct-to-consumer effort, keeping the Jamster brand in the United States and the Jamba name elsewhere.
