LONDON—MobileMail Inc. said it signed a letter of intent to acquire Oy Tracebit AB, a mobile content and entertainment provider and publisher.
Tracebit was founded in 1996 and focuses on Java and BREW games. The company, which is based in Porvoo, Finland, has relationships with carriers including Vodafone, Orange, O2, T-Mobile and China Mobile.
United Kingdom-based MobileMail, which provides a two-way, PC-to-mobile communications solution, said the acquisition gives it access to Tracebit’s global distribution network as well as relationships with mobile operators worldwide.
The letter of intent calls for MobileMail to acquire all the issued share capital of Tracebit for 8.17 million shares of MobileMail common stock. Tracebit will become a wholly owned subsidiary of MobileMail.
The acquisition is expected to close before the end of the year.
