MIDDLETOWN, R.I.—Towerstream Corp., a fixed wireless Internet provider, said it launched a last mile T1-like solution in Boston using pre-WiMAX technology.
The service, called High-Availability T1+, is available to business for $600 per month and includes a service-level agreement that covers service interruptions outside the company’s guarantee of less than a minute of downtime per month.
Towerstream said it provides customers with two T1-like connections that each point at different base stations around the city.
Founded in 2000, Towerstream offers pre-WiMAX services in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and elsewhere. The company said it is “aggressively expanding coverage” throughout the country.
