SHENZHEN, China-Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. racked up a contract with Mobistar to deploy mobile switching centers as the Belgium-based carrier transitions its core network from TDM to a distributed Internet Protocol architecture over the next several years.
Huawei said its Mobile Softwitch R4 will be integrated into Mobistar’s core network to support increasing second and third-generation traffic along with future network upgrades.
Huawei said it set up a subsidiary in Belgium so that it could work closer with Mobistar and its 3 million subscribers.
