MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-VeriSign Inc. will spend $52 million to acquire technology consulting firm inCode Wireless.
InCode has 14 offices in 10 countries and provides strategy consulting services to wireless and fixed-line operators as well as cable TV providers and telecom manufacturers. The company’s investors include Sequoia Capital, Focus Ventures and iNovate Communications Group.
VeriSign said the acquisition will not materially affect its 2006 financial results.
“With a focus on next-generation mobility solutions, inCode professionals have a firm grasp of all aspects of the wireless marketplace-from business strategy to emerging trends,” VeriSign chief Stratton Sclavos said. “We plan to offer end-to-end solutions that enable our customers to launch compelling services that drive new revenue streams and improve customer loyalty.”
Shares of VeriSign fell more than 4 percent following the news, losing $1.05 to $22.96.
