MTV’s N Mobile arrives on cellphones

The N, a TV channel for teens developed by MTV, will be available on Sprint Nextel Corp.’s mobile TV service, the companies announced. MTV’s The N Mobile will be available for $5 per month and will feature short video clips and behind the scenes footage of The N shows including “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “South of Nowhere” and “Beyond the Break.”
“Launching The N Mobile on Sprint is a natural evolution of our overall multiple platform strategy as we continue to produce, program and distribute content on different platforms to super serve our audiences,” said Paul Jelinek, vice president of digital media at MTVN Kids and Family Group. “Teens are increasingly on the go and some of the heaviest of wireless users. We are now able to provide them with a new way to interact with their favorite personalities and programming from the network, to further extend The N experience beyond the home.”
The move is the latest mobile effort from MTV, which recently reorganized its mobile content business to better take advantage of the medium.
