InterDigital heads $10M round in Kineto

Kineto Wireless Inc., a supplier of unlicensed mobile access technology, has received $10 million in its latest round of investor funding. InterDigital Communications Corp. led the pack with an investment of $5 million while Kineto’s existing investors supplied the remaining financing.
“We are pleased to have InterDigital join the team and help us continue to lead in the global deployment of UMA technology,” Kineto President and CEO Rick Gilbert said. “Operator rollouts of UMA are continuing to accelerate, and we are pleased to secure additional resources to help scale the company and meet this growing demand.”
UMA technology allows wireless users to roam across different network technologies. One of the more popular applications of UMA is dual-mode, cellular/Wi-Fi handsets.
