Flipswap
Flipswap, an outsourced cell phone trade-in solution for retailers, said it has signed integration partnerships with retail management system providers iQmetrix, Work Wireless, TeleTracker and CellSell.
Flipswap’s Web-based software allows retailers to formulate a guaranteed trade-in quote for old phones. The value can then be issued as a store credit. Flipswap reimburses the retailer for all trades and then either resells or recycles the phones.

Mavenir Systems
Mavenir Systems Inc. said it has partnered with Ericsson in the United Kingdom to add Mavenir’s mOne product to Ericsson’s offerings. The mOne solution enables IMS across all available devices. The companies said the combination of Mavenir’s mOne Solution with Ericsson’s BSC and MSC, UNC and IMS platforms will give carriers the ability to offer multimedia services across mobile, FMC and fixed domains with seamless session handover between the domains.

Mobile Metrics
Mobile Metrics announced several new and upgraded test products. The company announced availability of an updated version of its Torrent 7100 WTS, a commercial test system for WiMAX ASN gateways and CSNs. Version 2.0 of the product adds Proxy Mobile IP support, an update of its Client Mobile IP implementation to the March 2007 NWG specifications and the ability to test conformance of customer equipment against the new NWG specifications.
Mobile Metrics also released Torrent 7200 WTS, a test system for WiMAX base stations. The company said the system saturates a base station with the traffic of thousands of simulated mobile devices to conduct application load tests. The product tests WiMAX base stations in two ways, including application traffic testing over real or simulated R1 airlinks and R6 testing to verify conformance against the latest WiMAX Forum NWG specifications.
Finally, Mobile Metrics announced the availability of its Torrent 4100 XTS test system, which simulates hundreds of thousands of mobile devices entering a Wi-Fi, mobile IP or other IP network. The system simulates a variety of protocols.

RF Micro Devices
RF Micro Devices Inc. said it will display several of its products at CTIA Wireless 2007. The company said it will showcase its portfolio of integrated RF components and system solutions including transmit modules and power amplifiers for GSM/GPRS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, CDMA and W-CDMA handsets. It also plans to showcase its Polaris Total Radio transceiver solutions for GSM/GPRS and GSM/GPRS/EDGE handsets as well as its wireless LAN and GPS solutions.

NXP Semiconductors
NXP Semiconductors launched its WiMAX 2×2 Multiple Input Multiple Output family of transceivers for mobile and handheld applications. The product doubles the data throughput and maximum speed of the company’s existing WiMAX transceiver solutions. The company said the product can deliver speeds of up to 15 MB.
NXP said the product also guarantees seamless handover from base station to base station and uses standard analog I/Q and serial interfacing to interoperate with a variety of basebands.

MobileAware
MobileAware said a recent deployment of its ExpressQ technology with Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc., an air cargo charter company, has reduced the company’s wireless communications cost by 10 percent. The company’s technology was deployed in a wireless crew scheduling and notification system. The system allows Atlas Air’s flight crews to access current travel information such as schedules, accommodations and aircraft equipment from an HTC TyTN quad-band mobile device. Crews also can communicate with the company’s Joint Notification Desk via a wireless instant message-based solution.
