FunMobility is launching a pair of new mobile applications called America’s Best Mobile Flix (AFLIX) and Flirt Pix. AFLIX allows users to submit videos captured on their mobile devices and share them with others in the community video-sharing service.
“Really this is basically a mobile YouTube, but it’s so much better than what YouTube can do,” said FunMobility CEO Adam Lavine, adding “it’s more immediate because you can capture video anytime, anywhere, capture unplanned events and share it immediately.”
The application is built on the “social interactions that are possible with mobile videos,” Lavine said.
Flirt Pix is a service that enables users to view other members’ photos and anonymously exchange visual messages. The “photo flirting” service also enables users to categorize members as “boyfriend/girlfriend material” or rate members “hotness” or even send a virtual “wink.”
“The more hits you get, the hotter your picture is,” Lavine said.
FunMobility said it has distribution deals with all major U.S. carriers and at least two have plans to put the applications on deck during the second quarter.
