Where the days of yesteryear may have seen executives working business deals and networking on the golf course, the poker table has become the new venue for some.
Bplay Inc. and Hands on Mobile Inc. have invited 150 guests to the World Poker Tour BlackBerry Championship 2007 to celebrate the launch of World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em for Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry device. The tournament is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, Fla., during the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2007.
The winner of the tournament will receive a seat at the 2008 World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational, which gives 400 pro poker players and 60 celebrities a chance to win a share of the $225,000 prize pool.
Bplay and Hands on Mobile announced the launch of World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em for BlackBerry devices last week. The game, which comes with a price tag of $9, is available via Bplay’s Website. Bplay recently signed an exclusive agreement with Hands-on Mobile to deliver its products into the BlackBerry market.
“World Poker Tour is the No. 1 brand in poker and we’re thrilled to deliver this leading title to our BlackBerry users who are embracing entertainment as an integral part of the mobile experience,” said Nicholas Reichenbach, senior VP of Bplay.
