$15M in VC funding goes to Aylus

Mobile multimedia technology company Aylus Networks Inc. said it snared $15 million in a second round of fundraising from existing investors Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.
Aylus provides software designed to enhance voice calls with shared video clips and images. The Westford, Mass.-based company markets the technology to operators as a way to increase data revenues and reduce churn.
“We believe wireless operators will continue to invest heavily in technology that improves person-to-person communications,” said Paul Ferri, a partner at Matrix Partners and Aylus board member. “Real-time multimedia sharing services will both improve communications and drive growth for the wireless industry. Aylus is well positioned for leadership in this new market segment.”
