Several Hollywood studios have tapped AdMob Inc. to lure customers to big-screen blockbusters this summer.
The San Mateo, Calif.-based startup announced deals with Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros. to deliver banner and text ads on mobile Web pages. Users can click the ads to access information on theaters where the movie is playing and look up showtimes.
AdMob has gained significant attention as a kind of mobile advertising clearinghouse since its launch last year. The company closed a $15 million round of funding in March and claims such high-profile customers as Coca-Cola Co., Microsoft Corp.’s xBox and Nokia Corp.
