Sprint Nextel Corp. is expanding the reach of its Boost Mobile L.L.C. unlimited calling offer to an additional 10 states.
The carrier said that, based on the offer’s success in trial markets in California and Texas, Unlimited by Boost will now be extended to participating wireless dealers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Starting next week, Boost’s unlimited product will be sold at more than 900 Wal-Mart stores in all 12 of the states where the unlimited service is available. Unlimited by Boost is currently sold in RadioShack stores in California and Texas, and will expand to RadioShack location in the other 10 states as of Nov. 5, according to the carrier.
“Our trial of Unlimited by Boost has been well-received by value-seeking wireless customers. With the expansion of additional markets and distribution outlets, we are pleased to make the service available to a much wider audience,” said Mark Angelino, president of sales and distribution for Sprint Nextel.
Pricing for the unlimited calling option is $45 to $55 depending on location. Users can make unlimited local and nationwide calls from their home calling area, and are charged $0.15 per minute for calls made outside their home calling area. Boost Mobile also is offering a limited-time promotion of a free month of service with the purchase of a new phone and activation of a new account.
Sprint Nextel also said that beginning Nov. 12, Boost will offer a wireless Web price plan that includes unlimited voice, SMS, picture messaging and Web browsing starting at $55 per month, depending on the market.
