Bango unveils button to link computers, cellphones

Bango unveiled a link that allows users to send online content to their mobile phones.
The Bango Button was created for blogs and social networking sites as a way to bridge the gap between computers and mobile phones. A user can place the icon on a Facebook page, for instance, enabling visitors to the page to send photos, music clips or other files to their handsets.
The icon can also link directly to a mobile Web site or to mobilized versions of PC sites. Content providers can charge mobile consumers to use the offering or opt to make content available for free.
“Imagine a band organizing a gig,” Bango CEO Ray Anderson explained. “A Bango Button on their MySpace site can deliver details and a map of the venue directly onto a mobile handset. And after the gig, fans can get wallpapers or ringtones from the band site, right onto their mobile.”
