Alltel brings mobile shopping to Blackberry

Alltel Corp. introduced a free mobile shopping service for Research In Motion Ltd. Blackberry users through a partnership with mobile commerce provider Digby. The service gives Blackberry users access to products from a range of retailers including Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Godiva Chocolatier and FTD.com.
“Mobile shopping is an excellent complement to Alltel’s portfolio of wireless Internet solutions that provides our customers more flexibility while on the go,” said David Maddox, director of advanced data solutions for the carrier. “We believe Digby’s high quality and easy-to-use solution offers Alltel customers the best mobile shopping experience available today.”
Alltel customers using a Blackberry device can access the service by pointing their mobile browsers to alltel.com/smartphone.
