Atrium snaps up GTC for post-paid service

Atrium Wireless Partners L.L.C. announced it acquired the wireless assets of GTC Telecom Corp. in a deal that closed early last month. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Atrium Wireless Partners said it will add GTC Wireless’ post-paid cellphone services to its existing portfolio of pre-paid offerings. The privately held company said it will also maintain the GTC Wireless name and all of its holdings.
GTC Wireless will continue to offer wireless plans beginning at $10 a month and 10 cents per minute for calls within the United States.
“The addition of GTC Wireless to our portfolio of mobile services clearly demonstrates our commitment to offer consumers greater choice and more affordable nationwide wireless service,” said Jon Horovitz, president of Atrium Wireless Partners. “Everyone should have access to a mobile phone for emergencies, especially older individuals who don’t require the large number of minutes bundled with traditional cellphone plans. The acquisition complements our existing pre-paid mobile services with a post-paid platform making mobile services more accessible to consumers.”
Atrium offers “value-added products and services to small, medium and large companies in the wireless industry,” while GTC sells long-distance and international telecommunications services.
