Venture capital financing wrap-up: Beeco, Roamware and Yap

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.

Beeco: RTI International and Intersouth Partners co-led a $5 million Series A funding round into semiconductor company Beeco. The financing will be used to launch the company, expand its management team and continue product development. Katrin Burt of Intersouth Partners and Jim Gibson of RTI International will join the company’s board of directors.

Roamware: T-Mobile Venture Fund made a strategic investment of an undisclosed amount into mobile roaming and media solutions company Roamware.

Yap: SunBridge Partners led a $6.5 million Series A funding round into Yap Inc., a speech-recognition company based in Charlotte, N.C. The round also included participation from Harbert Venture Partners, Pittco Capital Partners and existing individual investors. The company said it will use the funding to expand its business and accelerate research and development initiatives.
