Leap Wireless International Inc. played musical chairs with a few of its senior executives. Al Moschner, formerly VP and chief marketing officer, has been appointed to COO. In his new position, Moschner will lead the information technology and technical operation functions, including supply chain management. He’ll also be responsible for leading efforts designed to drive further customer penetration and increase the financial performance of the company’s existing and newly launched markets. Moschner plans to continue handling the sales and marketing activities of his previous role with the company.
Glenn Umetsu was named executive VP and CTO. Umetsu will now lead major strategic programs and projects for Leap, including new market launches across the business. In this role, Umetsu will also be responsible for network buildout activities, establishing sales and distribution plans for new markets and leading the company’s technology planning to provide support as the Leap continues system expansion and improvements.
Umetsu and Moschner are joined by some new players in the game. Earlier this year, Leap brought on Walter Berger as CFO and Bill Ingram as senior VP, leading strategic and business development activities.
