Connor-Winfield receiver targets WiMAX

Connor-Winfield announced a new compact GPS timing receiver designed specifically for WiMAX applications.

The TiMax Wi125 is part of the company’s TiMax Global Timing product family. The company is showcasing the product at WiMAX World 2008. The product is a small OEM surface mount GPS module that is designed for use in synchronizing and timing WiMAX applications. It includes an on-board programmable NCO oscillator that outputs a synthesized frequency up to 30 MHz, said Connor-Winfield. The self-survey mode allows the receiver to enter a position hold mode that allows timing to be continued with only one satellite being tracked.

Connor-Winfield said the product can provide GPS synchronization in weak signal areas, including indoor applications.
