Motorola Inc. launched its WiMAX interoperability testing (IOT) program, which is available at its facilities in Arlington Heights, Ill., and at its new lab in Taiwan. The company said its Asian testing location, operated in conjunction with MSkylink, helps it fulfill its commitment to the M-Taiwan project.
The IOT program calls for Motorola to validate that a device is compatible with its WiMAX network infrastructure and helps WiMAX infrastructure customers decide about which customer premises products and mobile devices to purchase.
“It’s important to help our operator customers expand their choice of devices so they can go to market with high-performing solutions that will readily attract customers to their networks,” said Darren McQueen, Motorola VP of Wireless Broadband Access Technologies. “By providing IOT services in two locations, we’re making it more convenient for manufacturers and our customers to see devices in action on a Motorola WiMAX network.”
