Regional carrier Cellular One released an unlimited monthly wireless plan priced at $80, undercutting similar offerings from its nationwide competitors.
The carrier’s new “All of America” plan includes nationwide unlimited voice and text with no roaming or long-distance charges. Because Cellular One is a GSM carrier, when out of the coverage areas, customers can roam on AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile USA Inc. networks.
The announcement comes from the Cellular One division covering Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas, and is not to be confused with other Cellular One companies across the nation. The Cellular One brand is shared among a number of smaller, regional U.S. operators.
The carrier also recently introduced some new devices such has BlackBerry models including the Pearl, the Curve and others, said Amy Gallagher, public relations manager for Cellular One.
Virgin Mobile USA Inc., a mobile virtual network operator, also offers its “Totally Unlimited” plan for $80 a month. Sprint Nextel Corp. has widely publicized its Simply Everything plan, which runs $100 a month. Competitors AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless also offer unlimited plans ranging from $100 a month and up, depending on the added features.
