Kyocera pairs with Superior for cellphone accessories

Kyocera Wireless Corp. has enlisted a new partner to jazz up its accessory line. The handset and device manufacturer announced today that it partnered with Superior Communications, which will now manage the design, manufacturing and distribution of its Genuine Accessories by Kyocera line.
Aside from managing the accessories, Superior will also develop a new portfolio of cellular accessories to accompany Kyocera’s CDMA handsets.
“Aligning our design, manufacturing and distribution capabilities with Kyocera’s device strategy will prove to be a successful formula for future market penetration surrounding the Kyocera brand,” said Jeff Banks, senior VP of sales and marketing at Superior. “We are confident this transition will serve as a positive experience for all parties involved – most importantly, our customers.”
This transition begins immediately and Kyocera said it will work diligently to make sure the ordering process isn’t interrupted, from management of existing purchase orders to part numbers.
Kyocera has been shifting its workforce in other areas as well. The manufacturer announced in early February that it would cut 250 of its employees.
