Clearwire Corp. turned on another 10 markets this morning using equipment supplied by Motorola Inc., bringing the total number of markets launched with standardized WiMAX service to 14.
Cities launched today are Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Killeen/Temple, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Waco and Wichita Falls, Texas; Bellingham, Wash; and Boise, Idaho. The carrier offered pre-standard WiMAX service in these markets previously.
Home Internet service plans start at $25 per month, while mobile Internet plans start at $35 per month, according to the carrier. An unlimited option is $45 per month, after an incentive program for the first three months of service priced at $22.50.
