Case Study: Affordable internet in even the most remote area

Background:
Industrial Buckets is a heavy equipment dealer, specializing in restoring used construction equipment. They serve the North and Central America regions with a product line that runs the gamut from heavy equipment such as backhoe, cranes and forklifts, to a variety of attachments such as rippers. Business is conducted from four company locations, Fort Worth Texas, Alberta Canada, Panama and Mexico. Serving the Construction Equipment industry, Industrial Bucket’s business goal is to build lasting relationships and provide the best service they can.
Challenge:
Finding an affordable solution for a business located in a seemingly remote location.
Industrial Buckets was hard pressed to find internet service for their new Fort Worth, Texas location. The office was typical of a construction site; a large outdoor space far removed from the downtown metropolitan area. Fiber and DSL were completely out of the question since the cost to run cable wires from Dallas to their location in Fort Worth site would cost an estimated $10,000.
Satellite service was an option but, in the past, weather interfered with the signal causing service to go down.
Solution:
Line-of-Site 30 feet in the air.
Intrigued by Towerstream’s technology and price, Sam Hofer contacted Towerstream and within days a service technician was on-site to establish Line-of-Site.
The technician determined the office building was not tall enough to receive a signal. Unwilling to just give up, the technician requested that they use a scissor lift to hoist him up so he could determine at which point the signal would come through and where the equipment would need to be placed. Upon reaching 30 feet in the air, line of sight was established and a plan was swiftly put in place to mount a 30 foot pole with the transmitter attached and wiring weather-proofed.
Impressed by the ability to provide service in a location that no other service provider could reach, Industrial Buckets now depends on Towerstream for their internet needs.
