TCS to buy Networks in Motion for $170M

TeleCommunications Systems Inc. said it will buy Network In Motions Inc. for an aggregate $170 million of cash, stock and promissory notes. The acquisition, set to close in December, will position TCS as a leader in location-based services.
TCS has made its name in enhanced 911 services, and also is a leader in text-messaging and LBS solutions. Networks In Motion, for its part, provides white-labeled LBS solutions for Verizon Wireless.
