Following are infrastructure contracts that were announced during the past week:
Alcatel-Lucent
Mongolia: With Mobicom to deploy a 3G UMTS/HSPA network that will allow the carrier to extend its network capacity and coverage and meet demand for new services. The solution includes Alcatel-Lucent’s advanced converged radio access network portfolio as well as 3G UMTS/HSPA base stations, radio network controller, network management system and services.
Ericsson
Denmark and Sweden: With 3 to supply an HSPA network upgrade covering all of Denmark and four major markets in Sweden. The deal also calls for Ericsson to provide a new 900 MHz 3G network to boost coverage in indoor and remote locations. Ericsson also will supply IP-based optical and microwave backhaul and support services.
