Computex 2010 was always going to be about the tablets, and kicking off this year’s show, MSI did not disappoint, unveiling both a Windows 7 Intel Atom powered tablet and an Android version running on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor. Talk about hedging your bets, MSI.
The tablets, dubbed “WindPad 100” and “WindPad 110” respectively weigh about 800 grams, sport 10 inch touchscreens, a 1.3 million pixel webcam and mic, USB ports, a mini HDMI port, SD card reader a SIM card slot, GPS and the ability to hook up to both 3G and WiFi.

Specs for the WindPad 100 say the device has 512MB Flash +32 GB SSD, a “G Sensor gravity perceptual system” [whatever that may be] and an impressive sounding eight hours of battery life – although how that translates into real world battery life remains to be seen.
While the Intel powered tablet was shown off on stage by MSI CEO Joseph Hsu himself, the Tegra powered Android was relegated to side demo status only, possibly an indication of who is pulling the serious strings at MSI.
