SINGAPORE – Sony Ericsson has appointed Peter Ang as general manager and head of market unit hub for Singapore and Malaysia.
Ang brings more than a decade of telecommunications industry experience to the role.
He will oversee Sony Ericsson’s business operations across Singapore and Malaysia, leading strategy development and sales execution in this region, as well as enhancing the company’s reputation as a partner to enterprises and operators.
Ang reports directly to Ian Gardner, corporate vice-president and head of the Asia-Pacific region.
“I am delighted by Peter’s appointment as the head of the Singapore and Malaysia Market Unit Hub,” said Gardner. “With his vast experience and track record of delivery, we believe he is the right person to drive positive momentum in Sony Ericsson’s Singapore and Malaysia businesses.”
Speaking of his new role at Sony Ericsson, Ang said, “I am excited to lead the Singapore and Malaysia team as the telecommunications scene in these markets is very dynamic.”
He added, “In my role, I will be focused on strengthening our relationship with our partners, involving them closely in our product portfolio strategy to deliver superior products to our consumers.”
Prior to this appointment, Ang was vice-president, marketing for the Asia-Pacific region.
