MetroPCS expands LTE to N.Y., Boston and Sacramento

MetroPCS Communications Inc. (PCS) continued to roll out its LTE services today with launches in Boston, New York City and Sacramento, Calif. The carrier now offers the service in nine metropolitan areas following previous launches in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Detroit; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Philadelphia; and San Francisco.
MetroPCS said it plans to launch LTE services in Atlanta as well as Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Fla., by early next year.
MetroPCS continues to only offer a single device compatible with its LTE services in Samsung Telecommunications America’s Craft feature phone. The device retails for $300 after rebates, with rate plans beginning at $55 per month.
