Telefonica De Argentina Sees 45% Jump In Lines Next Year

BUENOS AIRES -(Dow Jones)- Telefonica de Argentina, the local unit of Spain’s Telefonica SA (TEF, TEF.MC) expects a sharp 45% jump in its number of fixed, Internet and cell phone lines in service next year, Telefonica said in a press release Thursday.
Telefonica de Argentina is expecting its number of broadband internet connections to rise 20% from 1.4 million and its cell phone lines to grow by 10% from 16.5 million. Mobile Internet services are expected to double.
In total, the company has 22.5 million voice and data connections after growing by 1.1 million in 2010, the company’s new president Luis Blasco Bosqued said in the release. The company also has 4.6 million fixed lines in service.
