Rexchip Electronics Corp. suspended shipments to Powerchip Semiconductor Corp., a key customer and major shareholder, because of overdue accounts, the memory-chip maker said in an exchange filing today.
Some bills weren’t paid “due to financial constraints,” Eric Tang, spokesman for Hsinchu, Taiwan-based Powerchip said by phone, confirming the suspension. Powerchip accounts for 34 percent of Rexchip’s shipments, Tang said without giving details on how much money is owed. Powerchip is trying to negotiate with Rexchip over the payments, he said.
