Aicent Inc., which provides data network services, has partnered with HarborLink Network to enable seamless Wi-Fi access at HarborLink’s hot spot locations throughout the United States. Locations include Buffalo Wild Wings and Skyline Chili restaurants, BP fuel and convenience stores, and a variety of other restaurant and retail locations.
Mobile application developer Handmark announced a new “Zip It” feature for its TweetCaster application. The “Zip It” feature is part of the company’s 2.6 update and allows mobile Twitter users to temporarily mute a person, trend or keyword. The company said users swipe a tweet horizontally when they see a tweet they want to zip, a dialog box appears asking the user if they want to zip the tweeter or content, and then the selected tweeter or content is hidden until the user unzips the item.
Aptilo Networks said it has been chosen by E-Networks Inc., a wireless broadband Internet service provider in Guyana, to provide service management prepayment capabilities and policy control for the company’s WiMAX service.
Zhone Technologies Inc., which provides FTTx network access solutions, said Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Co. has chosen the company’s MXK multi-service access node system to enable bandwidth increases of its all-IP network and provide high-speed asymmetric digital subscriber line services.
Mu Dynamics Inc., which provides next-generation testing services, said Japanese carrier NTT West has adopted its Mu Test Suite for testing its Internet services. The product will test edge routers and residential gateways for wired services.
