HTC Corp. expects to ride wave of 4G

HTC Corp. reported $500 million in net income for its quarter ending Dec. 31, 2010. Full year sales for 2010 jumped 150% from 2009’s total and the Taiwanese mobile phone maker is projecting shipments to more than double in the first quarter of 2011.
The company has enjoyed a solid period of growth following its early commitment to Google Inc.’s (GOOG) Android operating system.
HTC shipped 24.6 million phones in 2010 and it expects to ship 8.5 million units in the current quarter.
“We continue to see strong demand from existing products and expect recently launched 4G products to help drive shipment growth in 2011,” the company said in a statement.
