Qualcomm congratulates NTT DOCOMO on launching LTE service with Qualcomm solution

Qualcomm’s Industry-leading Multi-mode Chipset Solution Elevates Mobile Broadband Experiences for Consumers in Japan

SAN DIEGO — Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) congratulates NTT DOCOMO, INC. on launching Xiâ„¢ (Crossy), Japan’s first LTE service, using Qualcomm’s MDM9200â„¢ LTE/3G multi-mode chipset solution. DOCOMO has stated that the Xi provides mobile data communication at a maximum downlink speed of 75 Mbps, which is roughly ten times as fast as DOCOMO’s current FOMAâ„¢ W-CDMA service. The Xi service was initially launched in the Tokyo,Nagoya and Osaka areas with the USB data terminal L-02C, which is enabled by Qualcomm’s MDM9200 solution.
