Cypress Industries doubles electronics plant in Austin

AUSTIN-Cypress Industries, an Austin-based electronics manufacturing company, recently doubled its square-footage by moving to a new 30,000 square foot facility at 8027 Exchange Drive. The move was largely due to rapid growth in its U.S. manufacturing business.

“In 2010, we saw tremendous migration back to U.S. manufacturing. Since early 2010 we have seen domestic production quadruple,” said Cypress Industries CEO Tom Lonsdale. “Our new building has four times the amount of useable production space.”

The expansion also included hiring a new operations manager, Randy Bullock. Bullock’s tenure in the electronics manufacturing business includes over 20 years at Thermo Fischer Scientific where most recently he was director of operations covering manufacturing plants in four countries.

Cypress Industries is a cell phone data cable manufacturer that manufactures cell phone data cables and PDA cables at the company’s factory in China. The company can reverse engineer all types of OEM cell phone cables, OEM PDA cable assemblies, OEM cell phone data cables and connectors.

The firm is also a contract manufacturer specializing in custom cable assemblies, custom wire harnesses, plastic injection mold making, custom plastic injection molding and metal castings. The company has manufacturing facilities in both Dongguan, China and Austin, Texas.
