OnMobile licenses its video calling software stack to leading handset vendors in China
Barcelona, Spain – February 10, 2011 – OnMobile, the leading provider of telecom value-added services(VAS), today announced that several major handset, chipset and platform vendors in China have licensed the OnMobile Dilithium Video Calling software stack. The licensees will embed the OnMobile video calling software in a range of handsets and chipsets, including Android. Further highlighting its market potential and future growth, a dominant operator in China has also licensed the video calling stack for Android. This is a crucial deal for OnMobile since it is an upfront one involving a royalty stream on handset shipments. To support the ongoing demand in the region and OnMobile’s expanding Video
Product Unit, the company has also opened a new office in China.

The OnMobile Dilithium Video Calling Stack is the most established video stack in the market. The first shipment of the stack started in 1999, and can now be found in more 3G handsets brands and models than any other stack. It is fully compatible with 3G-324M, making it a popular choice for deployment as a real-time conversational video and value added services for 3G wireless environments. The video calling stack can be deployed in a range of handsets including Android, Linux, ThreadX and Windows Mobile. It features the industry-unique full implementation of fast session setup according to H.324 Annexes A and K (aka MONA) supporting all terminal classes.
