BARCELONA, Spain—United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI), a government agency that works with U.K.-based businesses to support domestic and international success, supported more than 100 companies at Mobile World Congress 2011. The coalition’s pavilion showcased some of the best technology of the United Kingdom the mobile and telecommunications ecosystem, which were selected from competitions run by UKTI’s knowledge transfer networks. Three of them, including Masabi, buddi Ltd., and Freescale Semiconductor UK Ltd., are highlighted in the attached video.
“UKTI, in the mobile and telecom sector supports over 25,000 companies and generates a significant amount of revenue for those companies,” said Nitin Dahad, information and communication technologies sector specialist at UKTI. “It’s important that we continue to enable that platform for U.K. companies to do business.”
In addition to the booth, seminar sessions on key topics at MWC were covered by UKTI such as mobile near field communication for major events, spectral efficiency, smart energy, smart cities, green radio, and machine-to-machine communications.
