ORLANDO, Fla. — T-Mobile USA Inc. announced a pair of new tele-health partners and the development of an embedded multi-mode international mobile subscriber identity SIM for global M2M deployment. GeaCom Inc. and BeClose.com both tapped the carrier to provide connectivity for their tele-health systems and devices. Separately, the carrier’s new multi-mode SIM for international M2M will provide M2M application providers the ability to deploy various global subscriptions at reduced roaming costs. Built in collaboration with Everything Everywhere Limited and Giesecke & Devrient, the new multi-mode solution will act as a local SIM when deployed in the United States and United Kingdom.
“In today’s increasingly competitive M2M marketplace, it is imperative we provide our customers with cost-effective solutions that best meet their global design requirements without any compromises,” said John Horn, national director of M2M at T-Mobile USA. “With the innovative multi-mode IMSI SIM, T-Mobile can help customers to significantly reduce the time and costs associated with the international redesign and redeployment of their telematics, tele-health, and asset management applications.”
The embedded multi-mode IMSI SIM should be available by the end of the year.
New tele-health partners
GeaCam is leveraging its new deal with T-Mobile to power its multilingual medical communication system, Phrazera. The handheld device gives healthcare professionals the ability to collect and deliver critical information between patients and caregivers. The key feature of Phrazera lies in its ability to cross language, cultural and literacy barriers.
