Savtira Corporation, provider of outsourced e-commerce solutions, announced its participation in the ng Connect Program. Virgin Media and Motricity, provider of mobile Internet services, announced Virgin Media will utilize Motricity’s MobileCast offering. MobileCast is a next generation content management solution and will deliver real-time, consumer relevant content to a wide range of smartphones on the Virgin Media mobile network.
SK Telecom announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China Mobile in Beijing, China. Under the MOU, the companies will jointly develop new, next-generation technologies in four key ICT areas including: Next-Generation Network, Device Platform, Machine to Machine (M2M) and WAC/Mobile Internet. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by senior executives of both companies including Jin Yongzhe, Senior Vice President and Head of China R&D Group, SK Telecom, and Wang Xiaoyun, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile. Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) announced that its ST-2 satellite has completed assembly and integration, and successfully passed all major tests. The satellite is currently being shipped to its launch site, and scheduled for launch in mid-May 2011. The satellite, a joint venture with Chunghwa Telecom, was put through a series of rigorous acoustic, vibration and thermal-vacuum tests to ensure its robustness ahead of its journey through the constantly changing space environment as it goes into orbit.
