Airimba Wireless Inc. – doing business as WindChannel Communications, Inc. – announced that it has concluded a merger agreement with AireWire, Inc. to create a combined company providing an expanded and diversified portfolio of network integration, wireless broadband and municipal services. Tobin & Company Securities LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tobin & Company Investment Banking Group LLC and a member of FINRA and the SIPC, advised WindChannel and served as its exclusive financial advisor in this transaction.
Broadcom Corporation, semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, announced it has completed the acquisition of Provigent Inc., provider mixed signal semiconductors for microwave backhaul systems. In connection with the acquisition, Broadcom paid approximately $313 million, net of cash assumed, to acquire all of the outstanding shares of capital stock and other rights of Provigent. The purchase price was paid in cash, except that a portion attributable to certain holders of unvested employee stock options will be provided in the form of Broadcom equity awards.
SignalSet, developer of solution that allows enterprises to deploy and control wireless devices capable of remotely switching between GSM and CDMA networks in real-time, announced it has secured $6 million from Vanedge Capital, Point B Capital, Globespan Capital Partners and Razorback Capital.
Equinix Inc., provider of global data center services, and Riverwood Capital, a technology-focused private equity firm, announced the completion of their acquisition of ALOG Data Centers of Brazil S.A. in an all cash transaction. Equinix invested a total of approximately $83 million—approximately $68 million as part of the acquisition and approximately $15 million to provide additional capital to fund future data center expansions.
