Dominican Republic WiMax operator Wind Telecom sees no contradiction in developing both WiMax and LTE networks in the future to ensure it can cover pent-up demand for broadband, company executive VP Damián Báez told BNamericas.
At the beginning of April, Wind announced it had completed an upgrade with Samsung Electronics of its nomadic 802.16e Wave 1 WiMax network, which is has run since 2008, to 802.16e Wave 2, which allows mobility.
