Bits & Bytes: Telefonica announces name changes; Neustar acquires Evolving System assets; and more

Neustar Inc., provider of solutions and directory services that enable trusted communication across networks, applications, and enterprises around the world, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and certain liabilities of the Numbering Solutions business from Evolving Systems Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Neustar will pay approximately $39.0 million in cash.

Brightpoint Inc., provider of supply chain solutions to the wireless industry, announced that its subsidiary, Brightpoint North America, has entered into a distribution services agreement with BuyCell Wireless Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Brightpoint will distribute wireless devices directly to BuyCell’s premier Verizon Wireless independent dealers operating across the United States. BuyCell consists of 18 members that are Verizon Exclusive Dealers. Those dealers account for over 2,600 locations across 48 states.
