São Paulo, May 9, 2011 – UOL, in pursuit of its growth strategy in the online means of payment market, acquired majority interest in the company Boa Compra LTDA.Boa Compra will still be managed by  Christian Carneiro Ribeiro, 28 years old and Luciano Carneiro Ribeiro, 26 years old,  who remain at the company as minority  partners.

This operation provides for forward payments of part of the price linked to performance targets for the next 2 years, besides UOL’s option of buying the remaining minority interest on behalf of these partners.Boa Compra,  founded in 2004 by brothers Christian and Luciano,  is specialized in online means of payment for games and operates in the Brazilian, Argentinean, Chilean, Mexican and Portuguese markets.“This asset has an extraordinary potential but  more relevant than that is we can rely on the talent and youth of Christian and Luciano in UOL’s team. It was a long-lasting relationship that resulted in this partnership”, said Marcelo Epstejn, UOL’s COO.
