RCR Wireless News will be attending this week’s New York State Wireless Association Trade Show & Conference in Bolton Landing, N.Y. The event is expected to provide a chance to get a ground-level view of issues and concerns for local issues that are often shared by operators, infrastructure providers, tower companies and support industries across the country.
Scheduled speakers at the event include SBA Communications Corp. President and CEO Jeffrey Stoops; Jack Rowley, director of research and sustainability for the GSMA’s public policy department; New York State Senator Betty Little; and former Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin.
Sessions on the agenda include discussions on mobile broadband and LTE in the public safety space; the place of municipalities in the deployment of mobile broadband networks; a look at federal initiatives facilitating wireless services; the challenges of backhaul; and the use of distributed antenna systems.
As a side note, many of these topics are also discussed at the RCR Wireless News Mobile Broadband events.
Showing the cooperative nature of the event, the California Wireless Association will also provide an update to attendees, while associations representing New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the New England Wireless Association will all be exhibiting at the event.
RCR Wireless News will provide continued updates and news from the event on www.rcrwireless.com as well as through Twitter at: meyer_dan.
