RCR Wireless News will be attending this week’s Uplinq Conference in sunny San Diego. The two-day event is expected to give Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) an opportunity to announce its latest plans for its services offering and continue to blend the technology trends that are embedded in software and hardware.
Rob Chandhok, president of Qualcomm Internet Services and SVP of software strategy at Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, said Qualcomm wants its service platform more aligned with its chips business. “We’re trying to broaden and update our services portfolio,” he said.
The San Diego-based powerhouse is also expected to provide an update on some of its latest acquisitions. While some of Qualcomm’s services are sold directly to an operator, others are unique technologies that it could make available across its platform.
Qualcomm has an impressive set of executives lined up for keynotes, including Qualcomm CEO and Chairman Paul Jacobs, Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) SVP and GM Jon Rubenstein, HTC Corp. CEO Peter Chou and Nokia Corp. (NOK) CEO Stephen Elop.
RCR Wireless News will provide continued updates and news from the event on www.rcrwireless.com as well as through Twitter @mattkapko.
