Huawei and IDEA, GSM mobile service operator in India, announced the successful launch of the first commercial MNP (mobile number portability) solution in India. The whole project was completed one month ahead of schedule and during the entire process, Huawei migrated 470 sets of equipment, comprising up to 60,000 links, for IDEA without any service interruption. As part of the arrangement, Apriva and MEI will actively co-market and support an end-to-end solution which includes hardware, secure payment processing technologies, reporting and back office tools, and MEI’s EASITRAX vending management solutions.
Astellia, provider of monitoring solutions for the optimization of mobile network QoS and performance has strengthened its collaboration with Videotron, operator in Canada to stimulate Wireless Network Quality of Experience. Under the agreement, Videotron will take full advantage of Astellia’s expert system for automatic diagnosis and optimization. The rule-based solution automatically detects low quality cells, analyses QoS issues’ root causes and thereby improves both service quality and optimization task efficiency.
New Songdo International City Development LLC (NSIC) and Cisco announced agreements that form important milestones in the development of Songdo International Business District, a 1,500-acre new city on the coast of Incheon, South Korea. Songdo IBD is being developed by NSIC, a joint-venture between American developer Gale International and Korean construction firm POSCO E&C, under the governance of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority.
