Samsung announces Galaxy S 3 before US launch of S 2

Samsung seems to be getting ahead of itself in the smartphone race, with talk of the Samsung Galaxy S 3 before the Galaxy S 2 has even been officially released in the US.

Of course, the fact the US market lags behind the rest of the world in this particular instance is not Samsung’s problem with Samsung Mobile chief JK Shin telling press the Galaxy S 3 was on schedule for early 2012.

The quad cored monster phone with AMOLED 3D screen is reported to have a whopping 12 mega-pixel camera, NFC and Google Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich.

It also comes equipped with all the buzz words you know so well, which mean oh-so-little, like 4G.

Another 4G ready device from Samsung is its Galaxy Tab 10.1, which goes on sale at Verizon this week. There is also said to be an 8.9 inch tablet on the way, though exactly when this is planned for release remains unknown.

So will Samsung skip over the US completely when it comes to the S2? Will the Yanks simply have to wait six months for the next version? That might not be such a bad thing. After all, third time’s a charm.
