Network optimization is a hot topic among wireless carriers looking to maximize the return on their network investments. This is becoming especially true as consumers continue to shift usage from the relatively low overhead associated with voice and messaging services to more network intensive data offerings.
Looking to help carriers ease through this transition, Centri Technology unveiled its Connected Experience Platform designed to allow operators optimize and secure their data networks. In addition, the end-to-end management offering provides for parental and corporate policies and help carriers monetize premium services.
The platform includes three product suites: BitSmart CX, which includes network efficiency tools, data protection and optimization; Premium CX, which includes parental and corporate controls that are maintained across devices and networks and the ability to implement flexible rate plans; and Insights CX, which provides operators with data on what is traveling across their networks and real-time data tracking capabilities.
Seattle-based Centri notes that this offering is tailored to allow carriers a quick return on their network investment by maximizing already deployed assets and the ability to defer capital expenses. Those assets include broadband, mobile broadband and Wi-Fi networks. The company added that the offering targets corporate customers, the healthcare industry and traditional consumers.
“The increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets in the marketplace is indicative of consumers and business professionals’ growing reliance on mobile devices. As a result, mobile data is expected to continue its rapid growth as consumers are using connected devices for a variety of tasks and across a variety of networks,” said Vaughan Emery, president and CEO of Centri, in a statement. “While this increased usage is positive for the wireless industry, it does not come without challenges in the form of security, monetization of services, network capacity and more. Our new Connected Experience Platform solves these issues by allowing operators to more efficiently manage their network resources, and tailor the end-user experience via a set of platform features capable of delivering more options for monetizing their networks.”
Centri’s plans received support late last year when the company closed on a $4.5 million round of financing led by Matthew Pritzker Co.
