Verizon Wireless continued to sweeten its prepaid offerings, announcing this week that it would double the amount of data available to customers selecting its $70 per month plan and quadruple the data bucket for customers selecting its $60 per month plan.
The enhancement will see the $70 plan now include 4 gigabytes of data services to go along with unlimited voice and messaging, while the $60 plan will now include 2 GB of data with the same unlimited voice and messaging. The carrier had initially rolled out the updated data plans in early February. The bolstered offerings are available now to current customers and will be available to new customers beginning June 6.
Despite the greater amount of data, Verizon Wireless’ prepaid plans remain stuck with 3G data services and devices and are not available for access to the carrier’s LTE network. Verizon Wireless announced that it added just 43,000 prepaid customers during the first quarter of this year, which was its lowest prepaid customer growth over the past two years.
